Beacon works... Kind of / Rain problem

Basically, I decided to make a beacon underneath the surface. I set it up, works perfectly. After a minute I realized that the beam is shooting straight through blocks as I forgot to make a tunnel for it to reach the sky. After consulting with moderator Jabych We also realized that if you put any blocks above it, the beam actually cuts off. The final conclusion is that making a beacon below the surface works, until you cut the beam off yourself. While I was looking into it, I also realized that when it rains, I can clearly see particles of rain falling down through blocks, even when I’m deep underground. I decided to also include that in this, post as I think it’s connected to the beacon problem. Not sure if anyone else has this issue. I do have two witnesses that saw it working.
