Creepers don't destroy artifacts

Soo i found an archeology structure in an Open World when a creeper exploded right next to the naturally generated furniture artifacts and didn't destroy them (i accidentaly broke one by hand but the pot is still there). I think this happens because they are technically barriers but i'm not sure
