custom animal crowding around a area

I have animal farms like Bear and Sniffer farm underground... they all seem to crowd around a single area even entity cramming themselves to death sometimes.

for my bear farm, I covered up all the water in the cave other than water near them and lit up the area so no mobs spawn but it doesn't seem to help
