custom Skin changing to basic skins

hello. when i visit the open world or spawn in general ( any part) my custom skin switches to the basic mc skins provided in the launcher. idk if this is an error on my end or OR's end. my friend also noted that they also experience the same thing. when i am at my realm, my skin switches back.
