Halloween balloon crates despawning

This has happened something like four times so far since the event started. I'd be walking east, a Halloween balloon spawns, then just a few seconds later, it despawns. Yesterday, one even spawned right in front of me and disappeared literally half a second later. Like, it was a blink-and-you-miss-it moment. The balloon was within my render distance every time. I have no video evidence sadly because of how unexpected this is each time.
