"is in a different chat region and can't see this message!" bug

How to re-create the bug:

1) Check if a user is online, for example the user with username "tri"

2) Type a certain message like "At least you tried"
3) You'll get the following message: "tri is in different chat region and can't see this message"

I had zero intentions to DM a user named "tri", but because the word "tried" starts with "tri" I'm getting this suggestion?
