leather armour disappears when shattered

although enchanting leather armour is unconventional in a game sense, it does look good dyed. unfortunately, when not using a protection rune and hitting the destruction chance while in an anvil, it causes the item to disappear completely and you do not receive a shattered leather piece in return. as far as I know, the issue can be recreated anywhere and with any of the leather armour pieces.
