tool skins dont work on soul gear

hello, Piterthepupet510 here. recently I've been setting tool skins on my soul gear (bow and sword) and the textures don't work. The bow one is not that big deal because its only when its charging, but the sword is always. I don't have an idea how this could be fixed.

    If there's any amount of charge on your item the skin wont show; this is so you can see the indicator for the weapon's ability. Even if you have a tiny amount of charge, the skin wont be visible

      That is really bad, It would be better if only the skin showed
