Mob Spawning Block

No, I do not mean exactly a mob spawner.

I’d like a (somewhat expensive) block that, when placed near a mob spawner, lets it continuously spawn mobs (with a cap of course) without the player having to be nearby. This would help my mob farm significantly and not require me to afk for a while to get the resources I need.
