Request to increase spawnrates in the server

Currently in OriginRealms, the spawnrates for passive mobs as well as hostile mobs are heavily decreased(I’m assuming to 10% of the regular spawn rates). While I know there are reasons for this, such as decreasing lag, such a drastic decrease in mobs also causes many negative effects to resource collection and player experience. However, increasing the spawn rate to 20%-40% of normal would aid greatly in improving on these issues, while still keeping server lag to a minimum.

For one, new players often struggle to obtain food without asking for it from other players. New players often pursue passive mobs such as cows or sheep to be their first food source. However, as there are little to no passive mobs appearing in their realms or in openworlds, new players may struggle to find food to aid their exploration. This will negatively impact the very beginners of the server, which presumably makes up a considerable portion of the playerbase. This can potentially lower server retention.

Secondly, this impacts mob farms. Although constructing a well-designed mob farm may take less time to build in realms because of the existence of rocket boots, these farms still take time and effort to complete. However, the drastic decrease in spawn rates effectively cuts the resources acquired from such farms by TEN times, which may discourage many players from even building these farms in the first place. Additionally, though spawner farms for many resources such as bones or string do exist, other resources such as gunpowder, ender-pearls, or cooked porkchops from hoglins must be farmed conventionally or purchased from NPCs at spawn. Thus, the imbalance between spawner-farmable and non-spawner-farmable resources is a significant issue for those who may be inclined to farm these resources.

Lastly, the general decrease in non-player mobs may diminish the vanilla-plus feel that the server is aiming to achieve. Mobs contribute greatly to this sentiment: exploring and finding plenty of animals for food, being extra careful when caving, needing to be cautious at nighttime. However, with the current spawnrates, exploring simply feels empty. There are barely any animals to add to the ambience, caving is safe as long as you bow down two or three mobs, and at night, one can just run somewhere and be completely free of hostile mobs. Increasing the spawnrates, even slightly, would help greatly in alleviating this issue.

I hope this post gets considered seriously, and that a change to the spawnrates may occur!
